Clinching the yellow jersey isone thing; keeping it is another. Rodrigue Kuéré Nounawé of SNH Vélo Club hasbeen the undisputed star of themoment, wearing the yellow sincethe start of the 22nd edition of theInternational Cycling Tour of Cameroon and defending it right until thefourth stage that took place yesterday June 7, 2026. The 108.6 kmstage from Yaounde via Aboman toEsse was run in a largely controlledfashion by the race favourites. Rather than chasing stage victories, Nounawé has focused onsmart race management to preserve his overall lead. He rodeconservatively inside the pelotonalongside his closest rivals in thegeneral classification, who all sharea total time of 9 hours, 38 minutesand 16 seconds each: MasengeshoVainqueur of Benediction BanafricaTeam (Rwanda) and Charroise Leoof Team Embrace The World (Germany). The trio sits 2 minutes 6 seconds clear on the overall standings. The fourth stage began on the esplanade of the Yaounde Omnisports Stadium with a 44-rider peloton that remained largelytogether for most of the day. It wasin the final sprint that Assal Mohamed-Nadjib of Algeria stamped hisauthority, taking the stage win inEsse; his third victory in this edition. He won the lap in 2 hours, 32minutes and 38 seconds.
