National Assembly : Twenty-three Man Bureau In Place

They were voted in a plenary sitting on March 18, 2022 and are from five political parties.

Bureau members of the National Assembly have been voted. The 23-man bureau was voted on March 18, 2022 during a plenary sitting which the eldest member of the House, Hon Laurentine Koa Mfegue as head of the provisional bureau began chairing and the House Speaker-elect, Hon Cavaye Yeguie Djibril, chaired the voting process of other bureau members. 
First to be elected was the House Speaker, a position which had two candidatures; Hon. Cavaye Yeguie Djibril of the CPDM, proposed by the Chief Whip of the CPDM Parliamentary Group, Hon. Ndongo Essomba, and Hon. Jean-Michel Nintcheu of the SDF. A total of 161 ballots were cast with the former being voted House Speaker with 148 votes and the latter (Hon. Jean-Michel Nintcheu) having one vote to his candidacy. There were 12 nul ballots. 
For the position of Senior Deputy Speaker, just one candidacy was presented, that of Hon. Hilarion Etong. He recorded 145 votes out of the 159 total votes cast, with 14 nul votes. 
The list system obtained for the positions of five Deputy House Speakers, four Questors and 12 Secretaries as they all gained their positions by a consensus. Hon. Mary Muyali Meboka, former Deputy Chief Whip of the CPDM Parliamentary Group was voted into the bureau as Deputy House Speaker, in replacement of Hon. Emilia Monjowa Lifaka who died last year.
