First Phase MTN Elite One: More Efforts Required

The first phase of the MTN Elite One championship for the 2021-2022 rounded off last weekend with some delayed matches that took place last weekend in stadiums across the country.

The first phase of the MTN Elite One championship for the 2021-2022 rounded off last weekend with some delayed matches that took place last weekend in stadiums across the country. The second round kicked off on May 3, 2022 with day 12 matches. Astres of Douala are already champions of the first phase of the championship in group A with a few delayed matches left while Eding Sport of Lekié are winners of group B.
Eding Sport and Astres Douala stood out with the best attacks. Eding Sport finished on top of group B with 26 points. Eding Sport has the best defence, conceding only three goals since the start of the season. Avion Academy is second with 19 points. Avion has been the surprise package this first phase. Out of 11 matches Avion Academy has five wins four draws and two defeats.  Coton Sport of Garoua is third with 18 points. In six games Coton Sport has won five and drawn one. Astres Douala are first in group A with 26 points conceding only six goals.
