Chantal Biya International Cycling Race : Organisers Modify Itinerary

Initially scheduled to kick off in Garoua in the North Region on October 2, 2022 the first lap will now kick-off in Bafia due to budgetary constraints.

The itinerary 22nd edition of the Chantal Biya International Cycling Race has been modified. Information from the Cameroon Cycling Federation (FECACYCLISME) reveals that the competition initially programmed to kick-off in Garoua in the North Region on October 2, 2022, has been cancelled due to budgetary constraints. Consequently, the race will now kick-off in Bafia on October 4, 2022 with the first lap to take place along the Bafia-Yaounde highway over a distance of 122.8km.
Apart from that, the ceremony for the presentation of the participating teams that was earlier scheduled for Garoua on October 1, 2022 will take place on Monday, October 3, 2022 at the esplanade of the Yaounde Omnisports Stadium. Also, the ceremony for the presentation of the 22nd edition of the Chantal Biya International Cycling Race initially scheduled for today September 7, in Yaounde has been postponed to September 14, 2022 at the same venue and time. Organisers say the rest of the calendar remains unchanged.
The race will cover a distance of 601km with lodging in three towns notably Yaounde, Ebolowa and Sangmelima. According to the official programme the second lap will take place along the Yaounde-Ngoumou-Ngomezap highway on October 5. The third lap will run from Yaounde-Ebolowa-Nkolandom (161.4km) on June 6.
