Political Parties : Renewal Wind Blows Across

Many political parties are currently renewing the basic organs to culminate in the election of the national executive bureaus during congresses or conventions.

The wind of rejuvenation and invigoration of political parties is currently blowing across the political playground in Cameroon. Many of the political parties have started the rejuvenation operation with renewal of their basic organs to culminate in elective national conventions or congresses, all with the aim of preparing to score victories in upcoming national elections.

SDF
The renewal of the basic organs of the Social Democratic Front (SDF) starting from the Electoral Wards up to the Regional Executive Committees is being rounded off now. During the party’s recent National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting in Yaounde presided at by the National Chairman, John Fru Ndi, it was instructed that the renewal operation at the level of regions has to be completed by December 2022. The renewal of the basic organs of the Social Democratic Front that started in 2021 will culminate in the party’s national elective convention in 2023 with the major stake being the succession of the current National Chairman John Fru Ndi who had earlier declared that he will not stand for re-election in the position. The commissioning of the elected officials in the Centre Region, according to the outgoing Vice Chairman Aloys Parfait Mbvoum, had to start with the Mfoundi Division early this month. 

CRM
Officials of the Cameroon Renaissance Movement (CRM) are currently commissioning to office the recently elected officials of the basic organs. According to the party’s Secretary General, Barrister Ndong Christopher, the renewal of the basic organs is intended first of all to get the party deeply rooted within and without Cameroon. It is also intended to have legal and legitimate representatives of the basic organs who will vote during the party’s elective convention in 2023, considering the fact that the term of office of the current bureau members will expire in April 2023. As at now, they have completed the renewal operation in West and Littoral 2 Regions out of their 13 political regions. Eleven regions are remaining in the operation conducted in a progressive manner.
