2023 African Nations Championship : Jerome Ngom, Souaibou Marou Among 30 Shortlisted Players

Head Coach Saidou Alioum has released a list of 30 shortlisted players to prepare ahead of the 2023 African Nations Championship (CHAN) billed for Algeria from January 13 to February 4, 2023. The list made public on December 10, 2022 stars, Jerome Ngom and Marou Souaibou; the duo of home-based players who are fresh from the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. The presence of Ngom (Colombe of Dja and Lobo) in the midfield inspires hope as the player shone in Qatar after he assisted Team Captain Vincent Aboubakar to score the lone and winning goal for Cameroon against Brazil in the Lions’ last group game. The full squad includes four goalkeepers, nine defenders, ten midfielders and seven forwards. The defence compartment has been blessed with several players among which Che Malone of Coton Sport whose prowess in the backyard has gained wide-spread admiration.
