University of Buea: Ako Edward, Horace Manga Installed

 Respectively Pro-Chancellor and Vice Chancellor, they were called upon to instill peace and maintain academic excellence in the University.

Professors Ako Edward Oben and Ngomo Horace Manga have taken up functions at the helm of the University of Buea respectively as Pro-Chancellor and Vice Chancellor of the 25-year-old institution. They replaced Professor Maurice Tchuente and Nalova Lyonga respectively at the helm of the over 20.000 university community of Buea. Appointed last 27 June by Presidential Decrees, both authorities were installed to their duties yesterday, 10 July, 2017, in the UB campus hall in Buea by Professor Jacques Fame Ndongo who is Minister of Higher Education and Cameroon’s Chancellor of Academic Orders.
Professor Fame Ndongo called on the new UB Bosses to employ sagacity, perspicacity, tenacity, dexterity, and experience earned elsewhere to solve academic, administrative, financial, managerial, social, infrastructural and digital problems of the University of Buea. He urged the new authorities to “sustain the place-to-be and make it a place of our dream.”  In a 25-minute installation speech, Professor Fame Ndongo praised the outgoing Vice Chancellor, Nalova Lyonga, and noted that she was going on a deserved retirement after loyal services to the education community.
