Investment, Tourism Promotion: Inner Mongolia Shows off Potentials To The World

The Chinese region recently held a promotion exhibition in Beijing.

 

The Chinese Foreign Ministry and the country’s Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region recently organized a promotion exhibition in the capital, Beijing. The event, which coincided with the 70th anniversary of the creation of Inner Mongolia, was attended by hundreds of diplomats. Speaking at the opening, Foreign Minister Wang Yi said Inner Mongolia touches the world in various ways.

“In spite of challenges of desertification, the people have never given up. Rather, they have fought back, reclaiming a third of Kubuqi Desert for farming and human habitation through innovative tree-planting techniques,” Wang Yi noted. He added that these efforts have been recognized by the UN. “If you eat Inner Mongolia mutton, you will never forget it,” the Minister concluded, alluding to the autonomous region’s position as China’s largest sheep farming area.

Inner Mongolia Communist Party of China Secretary, Li Jiheng, described the region as a society with unlimited glamour. It boasts 40 minerals and is the centre of China’s dairy industry, with products supplied all over the world. Its 2016 Gross Domestic Product, GDP, stood at 1.86 Trillion Yuan Renminbi (about 275.2 billion US Dollars), while foreign trade volume was 11.6 billion US Dollars (or 6,489 billion FCFA). Inner Mongolia Governor, Mrs. Bu Xiaolin, described her region as “beautiful and breathtaking.”

With 182 natural reserves and three geo-parks, the region is China’s leader in organic food production. The Governor disclosed that per capita GDP is now over 10,000 US Dollars (or 5.6 million FCFA). The region boasts 14,000 km of rail and maintains trade ties with...
