  1. Why did you create the association CLEWO?


CLEWO is an acronym for Cameroon Leading Women Organisation, created on March 4th, 2014 to provide inputs on amplifying voices on the perspectives, careers and leadership of women. Our aim is to build the skills, confidence and to inspire action to change the lives of women in their families and communities. The creation came from a remark we made. We realized a lot of propaganda, discussions, opportunities and schemes were put in place to accompany and empower the Cameroonian woman yet a good number of them are still lagging behind in contributing to the development of the nation.


What do you do for Cameroonian women?


We are very engaged in empowering the young girl because we believe she is the mother of future Cameroonians. So with them we run several projects through school girls’ clubs during which we give life skills training. We run character change programmes on responsible sexual habits, HIV/AIDS, menstrual hygiene management, family planning and gender equality amongst others.
