Civic Service : 2017 Batch Learn Holistic Responsibility

 Minister of Youth Affairs and Civic Education, Mounouna Foutsou, launched the 2017 National Conscripts training in Bamenda last August 22.

The 2017 batch of 1000 Conscripts recruited from all the ten regions of Cameroon have 30 days to train and emerge with lessons and knowledge in good citizenship. It is all about youths between the ages of 17-21 from formal and informal institutions, privileged to acquire lessons in First Aid, Moral rearmament, social entrepreneurship, volunteerism, national integration, solidarity, life skills etc.  The General Manager of the National Civic Service Agency for Participation in Development (NCSAPD), Taosi, said, the project that has so far, trained 11.000  Conscripts  was conceived to create  pilot villages of volunteers, integrate and raise Cameroonians in the spirit of living together in peace, tolerance and prosperity.
 Training in the backdrop of socio- political crisis rocking the North West and South West regions, messages during the Bamenda event stressed the need for youths to be raised in Republican values. It was against this backdrop that Minister Mounouna Foutsou urged youths to emerge as ambassadors of peace, dialogue and unity.
