Another Historic Moment

Each outing by the Head of State President Paul Biya at the debates of the United Nations General Assembly is always significant either because of his long standing experience and leadership qualities or due to the pertinent ideas that he shares with his peers on burning world issues. Today is likely not going to be different as he addresses the 72nd session of the U.N. General Assembly in New York.
 While playing the same frontline role last year during the 71st Session, Mr Biya harped on the importance of the Rio+20 outcome document meaningfully titled; “The Future We Want”, as well as the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the new 2030 Agenda and the Paris Agreement obtained at COP21. In lauding the usefulness of the approach being adopted by world leaders to tackle serious challenges facing the planet, President Paul Biya in his analytical perspective centred on the rationale of the 2030 Agenda which “truly focuses on human progress, humanity’s heritage, common will, and security“. Such humane values are not only topical, but dear to the President of the Republic, given his constant quest for better living conditions in Cameroon.  
Also, by being able to pin point shortcomings in the implementation of agreed decisions at the global level like the half-hearted measures taken to achieve the MDGs, the Head of State last year sounded the bell against any lip service to thorny situations that could jeopardize the world economic order thereby putting the human being ill at ease. Thus, his reminder that any political will at the international level must be constant and the global mobilization towards meeting financial engagements has to be steady and predictable according to the circumstances as well as the moral duty...
