Adequate Institutional Frameworks Exist

The last few days have been full of riddles about the evolution of things in the country, especially in the North West and South West Regions. Generalised mobilisation on Friday 22 September, 2017 in the two regions in response to social media calls and the ability of the forces of law and order to contain such numbers and limit to the barest minimum any damages even added to the puzzle.
Increasing public interest in the two regions to concerns of the form of the State including the option of secession has been qualified by all those who believe in one Cameroon as a dangerous slant. Those who ignited the problems through trade union grievances, for the most part, agree that they were served and with the escalation into political complaints the issues have been running out of rationale and falling in the hands of individuals who are clearly being seen as victims of manipulation. Otherwise, how else can anyone understand youths thinking that they can take gendarmerie brigade and police stations hostage and do whatever they want without anybody raising a finger.
Yet, besides the solutions provided by the Head of State in response to the grievances by the teachers and Common Law Lawyers, there is the Constitution of the Republic of Cameroon in Part One Article 1 (2) which states that; “The Republic of Cameroon shall be a decentralised unitary State. It shall be one and indivisible, secular, democratic and dedicated to social service.” When the teachers and the lawyers came up with the shortcomings that negatively affected the daily exercise of their activities, the Head of State in line with the provisions of the constitution pointed out that it wasn’t out of place for people to have differences or issues to iron out, but what matters is the approach to such concerns.
With the degeneration of trade union complaints taken over by politicians who today want to see the country fall apart, it is understandable that those who believe in the country should stand up and defend values that are dear to them. People have so far masterminded activities from safe havens abroad instigating, especially the youth to confront the forces of law and order. They have even conceived plans to take the educational system hostage in the country, thereby further damaging the chances of the younger generation to have a right to education.
