Taekwondo Cup: Elegance Pressing Emerges Winners

Over 100 athletes from across the country took part in this year’s Cup of Cameroon competition.

The gymnasium of the National Higher Institute of Sports (INJS) in Yaounde was the venue of the finals of the 2017 national championship for Taekwondo last weekend. Organised by the Cameroon Taekwondo Federation, the competition brought together over 100 athletes from across the country. The Cup of Cameroon finals marked the end of the 2017 season for taekwondo in Cameroon.
 The athletes competed in the junior men and women categories and the senior men and women’s categories in both the individual and teams competitions. In the men’s -80kg category, Touembou Silvère won gold. Mvondo Stéphane won silver and Bassognam Blaisse won bronze. In the +80kg, Calvin Guinambaye was the first followed by Wang Georges and Alpha Lobe Thierry. In the 68kg Neyi Esrom was the winner and in the 58kg Amougou Antione Thiery was the first.
