Cameroon- United Kingdom: Press Freedom Under Focus

The outgoing British High Commissioner to Cameroon, H.E Brain Olley, has in an audience with the Minister of Communication, Issa Tchiroma Bakary, discussed on press freedom and the quality of journalism in Cameroon. The audience was granted to Brain Olley on October 9, 2017 as he comes to an end of his four-year diplomatic stay in the country.
Talking to the press after the audience, the British diplomat gave an impressive experience of his stay in Cameroon as he represented Her Majesty’s government. He stated that besides discussing bilateral cooperation between both countries for the past four years, focus was on press freedom. Brain Olley lauded efforts by the government aimed at helping Cameroon promote press freedom and journalism.
