AFCON 2016: Cultural Villages To Cost CFA 14 Million

Although still to take flesh, the cultural aspect of the event will involve artists, painters and traditionalists who will sell Cameroon to the rest of the world.
 

Action in preparation for the November 19, 2016 AFCON in Cameroon has entered cruising gear. Bernard Okalia Bilai, South West Governor and mandated local organizing Committee Chair, last week, declared weekly meetings for every Thursday to oversee finalising touches on AFCON sporting, tourism, cultural and security infrastructure of the South West Region chiefly in Buea and Limbe.

He made the announcement 29 September, 2016, in his office conference room in Buea as a delegation from the Ministry of Sports and Physical Education held an on-the-spot appraisal meeting with the local committee after visiting Limbe and Buea AFCON infrastructure. It filtered during the Buea meeting that some CFA 14 Million has been allocated for the AFCON Villages. Tents, electric generators and other material were promised to come from Yaounde any time soon.
