Weekend’s Attack in Bamenda: Quick Recovery Wished to Senior Police Constable NTSA Roger

Below is a press release signed by the Minister of Communication Issa Tchiroma Bakary.

“The Minister of Communication hereby informs the public that in the night between 18 and 19 November 2017 around 10 p.m., a motorized patrol of the Cameroonian Security Forces was attacked by two armed individuals on a motorbike, at a place known as Food Market in Bamenda in the North-West Region.

During this attack, Senior Police Constable NTSA Roger, serving at the Central Command of the Yaoundé Mobile Intervention Groups and on a support mission to Bamenda, who was driving the targeted vehicle, was hit by a bullet on the left shoulder.

Despite the response of the other members of the patrol, the assailants managed to flee.
The injured police agent was rushed to the Bamenda Regional Hospital, where the bullet that hit him in the shoulder was extracted, and the displaced collarbone put back into its cavity.

Investigations carried out on the spot revealed that the ammunition used by the terrorists was of the same brand and caliber as those that were used by this horde of barbarians to assassinate the Gendarme Major DJONLAY Bienvenu, Maréchal des Logis-Chef HINMA Dieudonné and Élève-gendarme SALI David.

With this most recent attack which occurred in the night between 18 and 19 November, our Defense and Security Forces have suffered a total of five armed aggressions in two weeks in the North-West and South-West Regions.
