African Judo Open: Preparations Intensify

 Athletes from ten countries in the world are expected to take part in the competition which kicks off on November 25 to 26, 2017 in Yaounde.

 

 

All is set for the first African Judo Open will which take place in Yaounde from November 25 to 26, 2017. Ahead of the event, preparations have reached fever pitch in the country. Organisers are leaving no stone unturned in order to have a hitch free event. The competition will bring together judokas from ten countries in the world. Cameroon will present 58 athletes; 34 men and 24 women in the senior categories.
Registration and weigh-in of the athletes begin tomorrow November 23, 2017 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Friday November 24, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The competition proper will kick off on Saturday November 25, 2017 and will run till Sunday November 26, 2017. The Cameroon Judo team is presently in camp in Yaounde to fine-tune their skills. The athletes train twice per day at the Warda Sports Complex to enable them improve their skills. The coach of the national men’s judo team, Feze Alain said intensive training started in October and that focus has been on the improvement of individual techniques.
