“Comprehensive Health Care Package For UBa Students”

  Prof. Therese  Nkuo-Akenji,  The Vice Chancellor of the University of Bamenda sizes up the situation in the University of the future.

 How would you describe the situation at the  University of Bamenda today?

 We went through  tough times during the last  academic year and you were with us all the way. . We are doing all our best to keep the tempo going. We are calling on many students as possible to return and for new ones to come because we have good things in store. We are determined to improve on our teaching and  campus life. As you can see, students are on campus and they are going about their activities. The lecturers  are available  to accompany them in their quest  for knowledge.

How set is the University of Bamenda for the 2017/2018 academic year?

 We have put in much to ensure that the academic year runs to an end without much speed breaks. The Faculty of Health Sciences and  the College of Technology that were lodged in Mile III, Bamenda   have all  been moved to the main campus. We are out to ensure good governance and to make sure that everybody is secured.

What is the University of Bamenda doing to improve on students health care and lodging?

We have three buildings constructed to serve as hostels  with  about 511 beds for now. This is  definitely not enough  for the student  populations. Consequently, we have had regular meetings with the landlords to express our concerns and to monitor them over the  well fare of the students in their houses. So far, it’s been okay.
