Higher Education: Draft Budget of FCFA 61.401 Billion Defended

 Minister Jacques Fame Ndongo defended the draft 2018 budget in the Committee on Finance and Budget of the National Assembly on December 2, 2017.

The Minister of Higher Education, Jacques Fame Ndongo on December 2, 2017 in the Committee on Finance and Budget defended the 2018 draft budgetary allocation to the ministry that stands at FCFA 61.401 billion in commitment authorizations and payment appropriations.

This draft budgetary allocation represents a drop of FCFA 6.253 billion compared to the budget of the 2017 financial year that stood at FCFA 67.654 billion.

The Minister explained to the commissioners that FCFA 21.540 billion of the allocation would be used for investment. Broken down, FCFA 11.540 billion would be used for external resources and counterpart funds and FCFA 10 billion will be invested in ordinary resources. The Ministry plans to use FCFA 39.861 billion in recurrent expenditure.

From the amount, FCFA 27.699 billion will be used for salaries and FCFA 12.162 billion in running expenses excluding salaries.
