Labour and Social Security: Priority On Improving Labour Protection

Quality social security for all and decent work in all industries are top on the agenda of the 2018 budget of the Ministry.

A draft budget of FCFA 4,752 billion has been submitted by the Minister of Labour and Social Security, Grégoire Owona, for consideration by the Finance and Budget Committe at the National Assembly.

Gong by the Minister, the amount if validated, 4,52 billion will serve as operating budget and 700 million in investment.

In his 2018 financial year explanatory note, three objectives will be highlighted which are promoting social security for a larger population, improving labour protection and enhancing institutional support to the labour and social security sub-sector.

The proposed budget for next year has witnessed an increase as compared to FCFA 3,567 billion that was allocated to the ministry for the 2017 fiscal year.
