Security In Manyu Division: Population Invited To Stay Calm

Below is a press release sent to CT by the South West Governor.

“The governor of the South West Region informs the population of Manyu Division in general and more especially those of some village communities that are gripped by panic due to the contents of a certain communiqué purportedly issued by the Senior Divisional Officer for Manyu and currently being circulated on the social media as well as being carried by some media houses that the Administration of the Region does not recognize the said communiqué which is hereby declared fake, null and void.

The Governor consequently requests these populations to stay calm, remain in their villages and reassures them that any actions or operations to be eventually undertaken by the Defence or Security forces shall be meant to ensure their protection according to very high instructions from the Head of State, H.E. President Paul Biya?

In this connection, the population would be expected to give the Defence and Security forces their maximum collaboration.

Consequently, the Governor counts on the positive collaboration of local opinion leaders, traditional rulers and all living forces of Manyu Division for the smooth execution of any operation aimed at safe-guarding the territorial integrity of our Nation as well as ensuring the security and protection of the local populations and their properties.”
