Ndian Attacks On Defence Forces: Criminal Assaults Repelled

“The Minister of Communication hereby informs the national and international public opinion that units of the National Gendarmerie located along the western border of the North-West and South- West regions have for some time been the targets of terrorist attacks from armed groups claiming to belong to secessionist movements that have been wreaking havoc in these two regions.

It was during one of those attacks that, on the morning of Monday, December 25, 2017, at around 9 a.m., the Gendarmerie Brigade of the Toko Subdivision located some 60 km away from Mundemba in the Ndian Division, South-West region, was stormed by some 30 assailants bearing firearms.

The aggressors, who were chanting irredentist slogans during their offensive, faced the fierce resistance of three non-commissioned officers stationed on the site, whose energetic retaliation successfully repelled the criminal assault.
