AFCON: CAF Inspection Mission Starts Today

The visit is in line with the preparations for the 2019 Total Africa Cup of Nations.

After several months of waiting, the CAF inspection team and the Roland Berger auditing firm will officially begin their first inspection mission to Cameroon today, January 12, 2018. The visit which runs from January 11 to 23, 2018 is in line with the preparations for the 2019 Total Africa Cup of Nations. The CAF inspection team will be made up of ten people; five from the Roland Berger auditing firm and five from CAF.

The objective of the visit is for the experts to asses Cameroon’s preparations to host the Total AFCON 2019. For 13 days, the CAF inspection team will visit sports infrastructure which will host the biggest soccer event on the continent come June 2019.

Barely 18 months to the event the CAF inspection team intends to ensure that the deadline will be respected before the start of the competition as well as respect for the exigencies of CAF. The experts will start their visit in Yaounde at the Olembe Stadium today January 12, 2018 and the Omnisports Stadium on January 13, 2018. The CAF mission will then visit sports infrastructure in Garoua, Douala and Bafoussam.
