African Media Regulatory Bodies: Cameroon Ready To Take Over Presidency

Communication Minister Issa Tchiroma Bakary has assured the visiting delegation of the Steering Committee of the African Communication Regulation Authorities Network of government support.

The visiting Steering Committee delegation of the African Communication Regulation Authorities Network (ACRAN) are now assured that Cameroon is ready to take over the presidency of the network in December 2018 for a two-year term of office and also organize the 9th Conference of African Communication Regulatory Authorities (CACRA) still in December 2018 during which ACRAN’s 20th anniversary will equally be celebrated.

Cameroon’s Communication Minister, Issa Tchiroma Bakary gave the assurance of government’s support on January 17, 2018 when members of the ACRAN Steering Committee led by the President-in-office, Nana Kwasi Gyan-Apenteng visited and had an enriching sharing-of-experiences session with him at the Ministry in Yaounde.

Following the convention of ACRAN, the Chairperson of Cameroon’s National Communication Council, Peter Essoka who is the current vice President of ACRAN will automatically take over from the outgoing President Nana Kwasi Gyan- Apenteng during the Conference of Presidents called CACRA that will hold in Cameroon on December 2018.
