Uganda: Test Crude Oil Ready For Sale Soon

 Commercial production is expected by 2020 when a pipeline to Tanzania is due completion.

The Uganda National Oil Company, UNOC, has invited bids for the purchase of the country’s test crude oil from Kasenene 1 and other locations throughout the Albertine Graben.

New Vison newspaper reported recently that interested buyers were expected to submit bids by March 9, 2018, while the winner will be announced at the end of next April.

Approximately 45,211 barrels of sweet and waxy crude oil were extracted from well testing during the appraisal period of oil and gas. In a recent press statement, UNOC said it had started the process of identifying potential buyers for the test crude oil. Interested buyers are expected to inspect the oil in Albertine Graben from February 19-22, 2018.
