Foreign Investment: US Craves To Improve Performance In Cameroon

The United States Ambassador says US investors yearn for equal opportunities with other companies.

The United States Ambassador to Cameroon, Peter Henry Barlerin has said his country wants to improve on its investment in Cameroon. The American diplomat spoke to Cameroon Tribune in Yaounde on February 16 after a courtesy visit to the Minister of Energy and Water Resources, Basile Atangana Kouna.

He said his mission is to improve on US trade and investment in Cameroon, particularly in the sector of water and energy. “Cameroon has a huge potential in water and energy and I have told the Minister that there are many American companies wanting to invest in Cameroon.

He told me he is aware of a number of them,” he said. Ambassador Barlerin noted that what they want is that US companies should be treated the same way investors from Cameroon and elsewhere are treated.
