Yaounde: Fatal Accident At Ahala Neighbourhood

The incident involved between two heavy-duty vehicles at the first fly-over along the entrance into Yaounde.

A ghastly accident occurred during the early hours of Tuesday February 20, 2018 leaving the driver of one of the heavy duty vehicles, Romuald Seghou Kuelong, dead on the spot. Traffic police on duty said the incident happened at about 2:00 a.m. when a truck was entering the town of Yaounde loaded with cement.

At the first flyover along the Ahala neighbourhood, another heavy duty vehicle carrying timber was negotiating its way into the main road from the Tropicana neighbourhood.

It is said that Seghou Kuelong might have underestimated the length of the timber vehicle. In trying to make his way across the road, the front part of his vehicle collided with the timber part of the other vehicle, crushing him and his vehicle beyond repairs.
