Constitutional Council: Copies of Nomination Papers Submitted

Special provisions were made at the Registry of the Supreme Court for the exercise.

By 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 22, 2018, three political parties had submitted copies of the nomination papers of their candidatures at the Registry of Supreme Court as one of the key provisions ahead of the senatorial election of March 25, 2018.

Reports from the Constitutional Council say copies of the nomination papers for the election are submitted at the Registry of the Supreme Court pending the effective take off of the Council whose members will take the oath of office during the Congress of Parliament on March 6, 2018.

The ruling Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement (CPDM)’s delegation led by the Assistant Secretary General at the Central Committee, Grégoire Owona came to the Registry of the Supreme Court at 6:45 p.m. with copies of the nomination papers of the party’s candidatures. Staff of the institution painstakingly examined the files before registering them.

The staff disclosed that the United Democratic Party (UDP) on February 21, 2018 submitted the copy of the nomination papers of its list only for the North West Region. They also said, the Social Democratic Front (SDF), yesterday submitted the copies of the nomination papers for the West Region.
