Social Affairs: New Officials And The Task Ahead
They were commissioned on October 14, 2016, by Minister Pauline Irène Nguene.
The Minister of Social Affairs, Pauline Irène Nguene, wants to see a new spirit amongst workers. This, she restated on Friday, October 14, 2016, at the Yaounde Multi-purpose Sports Complex, Warda, while installing recently appointed staff. She said the September 17, 2016 appointments were intended to engender a new impetus to work in order to achieve intended results.
“Government and the public expect much from us. Our staff must live up to expectations in line with the Social Inclusion policy of the Head of State,” the Minister noted. “We look forward to seeing more dynamic, committed and devoted staff who meet the expectations of users of our services. I expect the recently appointed workers to get down to work and produce efficient results,” Pauline Irène Nguene said.
The over 50 staff appointed last month included sub-directors, cell and service heads and bureau heads. It must be noted that it has been long since bureau heads were appointed in the Ministry of Social Affairs. According to officials, the appointments were aimed at filling vacant positions and assigning those who held no duty posts. The September 17, 2016 appointments also included staff in regional and divisional delegations, social and training centres and social welfare posts attached to other ministries and departments.
