The President of Mauritius, Ameenah Gurib-Fakim, on March 14, 2018, announced that she will no longer resign amidst a financial scandal, the BBC reported. Less than a week ago, Gurib-Fakim offered to step down after Mauritius’ 50th anniversary next week following allegations that she used a charity's credit card to purchase personal items.
