2019 AFCON: MPs Assured Of Cameroon’s Readiness

 Sports and Physical Education Minister; Bidoung Mkpatt gave the reassurance on March 16, 2018 as he responded to questions concerning his Ministry before Parliament.

Cameroon will conveniently host the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2019, stated Minister Bidoung Mkpatt. He gave the guarantee following questions from Parliamentarians at the National Assembly on the state of preparedness of the country, evolution of selected infrastructure to host the competition and measures to maintain these structures after the tournament.

Minister Bidoung Mkpatt stated that the deadline for the completion of all projects and sites scheduled to host the football games is December this year and all concerned construction enterprises have pledged to deliver within the timeframe.

He said following the first inspection visit of the CAF delegation some months back, some recommendations were made by the team which Cameroon is seeing to their implementation.
