Equatorial Guinea: Soldiers Decorated For Arresting Foreign Mercenaries
Equatorial Guinean President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo over the weekend decorated 85 soldiers with various medals for their role in arresting foreign mercenaries involved in the aborted coup of last December. “In your work, you must respect the law and Constitution, else, Equatorial Guinea will be left without any protection…. Now that we are free and independent, we must defend our fatherland in order to avoid coming once more under foreign domination …,” President Obiang Nguema underscored. According to the presidential website, the military decoration was carried out in the presence of the Chancellor of National Orders, Daniel Nkua Nkua, Vice President Teodoro Nguema Obiang Mangue, Vice Prime Minister Clemente Engonga Nguema Onguene and other senior State officials.
