«Ifeel comfortable to be part of the pioneer Senators in Cameroon. I also have a feeling of joy and disappointment. Joy in the fact that we succeeded to scrutinize all the bills tabled before us and they were promulgated into law. We also entered parliamentary networks that create a lot of opportunities for cooperation. We worked with the Commonwealth and the Francophonie When we came to the Senate, we thought we could initiate private members bills, adopt them and see how Cameroon could benefit from the new institution like the Senate in terms of laws in the areas of potable water, road projects, airports and cooperation management. All the private members bills were rejected and many of us from the opposition political parties were discouraged. Once our colleagues of the ruling CPDM knew that all the private members bills would be rejected, it not possible to invite them for a reflection on the bills. They would see it as a waste of time.
