“A Privileged Opportunity”

“It was a rich and exciting experience to have served as pioneer Senator. In fact, it was indeed a privileged opportunity for me to represent the people of the South West Region in the advancement of the democratic process in the country. My moral responsibility was therefore channeling the plight of my people to the government in order to see how lasting solutions can be arrived at. A retrospective of my five years at the Senate indicates that much was achieved given the increased advocacy done to improve the wellbeing of citizens. We equally analysed government actions through the questioning of Ministers on the state of progress of outlined projects and setbacks to those not yet completed. We equally gave valuable inputs on the reviewing of laws and the management of State institutions, while also accompanying the President of the Republic towards Vision 2035. At the international level, I represented the Senate on different occasions which I shared experiences gained upon my return. While getting into the Senate, my itinerary was representing the ambitions of the people of the South West region which to an extent I advocated for their cause.
