Zimbabwe: Government Steps In To Raise Funds

The Mighty Warriors are still to start preparations, while waiting to receive financial assistance to improve their participation at the tournament.

 

Three hundred thousand Zimbabwe dollars about 17,700,000 FCFA will be set aside to ease the participation of Zimbabwe female national team. The announcement was made by the Zimbabwe government on the celebrations of the International Day of the Girl Child to promote female football in the country Government in partnership with other actors of the private sector have set up a steering committee, made up of 10 members, that will be in charge of raising funds to help the players embark in a final intensive training programme.

The Sport and Recreation Minister, Makhosini Hlongwane, told guests at the meeting that the Mighty Warriors need the money to cover all expenses from camping, preparations, flight tickets as well as allowances.
