Brazil: Ex-President Lula Begins 12-Year Prison Sentence

After several attempts to avoid going to jail and to even stand in the forthcoming presidential vote, Brazil’s former President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva over the weekend finally handed himself to the police to begin serving a 12-year jail sentence after being found guilty of corruption.
