Senegal: Trial Begins Of 30 Terrorist Suspects

After three adjournments since last December, the trial of 30 terrorism suspects finally opened on April 9, 2018 in the Senegalese capital, Dakar, Radio France International reported. The defence counsel tried to get the matter adjourned again, arguing that changes were made to the initial charges. But Judge Samba Kane stood his grounds, insisting that the trial must go ahead because some of the suspects had been in detention for two years already. The accused include Imam Ndao, the alleged mastermind of the plot....
