Athletics: FAP Men, Women Top Charts

 The third playing day of the national interclub championship that took place in Yaounde last weekend.

The Armed Forces and Police men and women’s athletic clubs are presently leading the national athletics championship this season. This was the outcome of the third playing day of the national interclub championship that took place at the Yaounde Omnisports Stadium last weekend. Organised by the Cameroon athletics Federation, the competition brought together athletes from clubs across the country.

The particularity of last weekend’s meeting was the absence of some top athletes in the championship who area presently taking part in the ongoing Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast Australia. For two days, the athletes competed in different disciplines in the track and field.

In the men’s 100 m race Jean Tarcisius Batambock of INJS Athletics Club was the fastest finishing the race in 10”39 while in the women’s 100m race Mintsa Marie Josephine CMSP Athletics Club was the first in 12”45. In the men’s 20km walk Nzossie Hervé Duclair (FAP) finished the race in 1h45’59” while in the women’s 10km walk Maffokem France (AY) was the first in 1h2’30”.

In the men’s 200m race Esseme Emmanuel Alobwede (CMSP) 21”33. In the Women’s 800m race Mfogang Tenkeu Adèle (NZ) was the first in 2’12”7. In men’s competition Nyanjua Donald Ndim (INJS) finished first. In the men’s 10,000m race Tchikoua Felix (FAP) finished the race in 32’14”8. In the ...
