Senate: Hon. Nkodo Dang Thanks Head of State

The re-elected President of the Pan African Parliament had talks with the Senate President on May 18, 2018.
After landing at the Yaounde- Nsimalen International Airport on May 18, 2018 from Midrand, South Africa where he was re-elected the President of the Pan African Parliament for the second three-year term of office, Hon. Roger Nkodo Dang went directly to meet the President of Cameroon’s Senate, Marcel Niat Njifenji.
He went to the Senate to express his gratitude to the Senate President and to urge him to transmit the gratitude to the Head of State, President Paul Biya who nominated him Nkodo Dang as Cameroon’s candidate for the election, he said after the audience.
Hon Nkodo Dang described the victory as, “the victory of the Head of State of Cameroon, Parliament of Cameroon and the victory of the entire country.” Hon, Nkodo Dang said he also came to brief the President of the Senate on how the electoral process unfolded.
Talking specifically about the election, he said it was the first time in the history of the Pan African Parliament, that a President was re-elected for a second term of office. He disclosed that out of the 55 members States of the African Union, 54 effectively took part in the election. Out of the 224 electors, all voted and Cameroon won the election in the first round with a large absolute majority. He beat the candidates from Zimbabwe and Egypt.
With regard to the trust African Heads of State have for President Paul Biya of Cameroon, he stated the commitment of some of them to campaign for Cameroon’s candidate on his behalf. H...
