Guinea Conakry: PM Forms First Cabinet
Guinea Conakry’s new Prime Minister Ibrahima Kassory Fofana on May 26, 2018, announced the formation of his first government without major changes from the one led by his predecessor, Mamadi Youla, Radio France International, RFI, reported. The new team includes two light weight opposition politicians, Mouctar Diallo and Aboubacar Sylla, respectively of the NFD and UFC parties. The two are former allies of opposition leader Cellou Dalein Diallo. The cabinet with 33 members sees the Ministers for Defence, Foreign Affairs, Justice and Territorial Administration retaining their portfolios. Mamadi Camara, formerly Ambassador to South Africa, becomes Minister of Economy. Meanwhile, parliamentary polls are due next September.
