U-17 FIFA Women World Cup: Lionesses’ Adversaries Known
Cameroon will play with Korea DPR, Germany and the representative of Concacaf 3.
The U-17 Lionesses of Cameroon now know their adversaries at the upcoming FIFA Women’s U-17 World Cup competition in Uruguay 2018. Draws for the competition took place on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 in Zurich, Switzerland. Cameroon will play in Group C with Korea DPR, Germany and the representative of Concacaf 3.
The competition which will run from November 13 to December 1, 2018 will bring together 16 teams from across the globe. The competition will take place in three cities notably Colonia del Sacramento, Maldonado and Montevideo, which will also host the semi-finals and final.
The draws do not seem to favour the Cadet Lionesses of Cameroon as they are in a difficult group. First of all the Cadet Lionesses will have to play against cup holders, Korea, which will not be an easy task. Korea are one of the top favourites in the competition and more experienced.
They will be out to maintain the trophy they won in 2016. The Lionesses, on their part are, making their second appearance in the competition. During their first outing in Jordan in 2016 they were eliminated in the group stage losing all three matches.
Cameroon qualified for the Women’s U-17 World Cup following two wins against Algeria 4-0 in the away leg and 7-0 in the return leg in Yaounde. In the second round qualifier against, Nigeria they finished 2-2 in the first leg and drew 1-1 in the return leg in Yaounde booking their ticket to the world cup.
