Aymen Latrous, a Tunisian immigrant living in France without papers can now heave a sigh of relief after the authorities of Val-d'Oise Prefecture on June 5, 2018 stopped moves to expel him from the country and agreed to revisit his request to regularise his stay. Radio France International reported that he is also to be recruited in a company in the Prefecture for “an indefinite period.”
Latrous was amongst three young men who saved two French children from a 2015 home inferno. The young Computer Science technician was later decorated with a medal of courage by Fosses Council. But when he recently applied for residence permit, his request was turned down, causing a public and media outcry.
