The education of the nation’s youths features prominently on the agenda of the United Democratic Party(UDP). This is evident in a crusade to enhance the learning process in schools, an initiative that has been heralded by the education family in the North West region. In effect, the National Chairman of the UDP party, El Hadj Lawan Bako was in GBHS Mankon on May 22, 2018 where he launched the project to distribute free textbooks to inspire success at end of course examinations.
It was a day for students preparing end of course GCE examinations. They jumped for joy as they received 250 textbooks. It is all about, “Objective tests in Ordinary level Chemistry”, carrying over 700 questions and answers. El Hadj Lawan Bako told beneficiary students that the books are expected to help them revise towards the GCE examinations.
He encouraged them to stay focused in the conviction that education and knowledge is the key to success in life. He stressed that the crusade, expected to reach out to virtually all the colleges of the region privileges examination classes and especially science courses because science rules the world.
“You shall not be disappointed” is the response the UDP Leader got from beneficiary students. Meanwhile , speaking for GBHS Mankon, Gabiapsi André saluted the donation. He said it is laudable because that is the only textbook some of the students have been able to procure down the entire 2017/2018 academic year.
It was conclusive that, the books could make the entire difference for success, coming a few days to the beginning of the 2018 GCE Session. El Hadj Lawan Bako told CT that GBHS Down Town, Bamenda will soon be the next stop with success in education textbooks.
