North West: More ACEFA Cheques To Enhance Agricultural Productivity

Bamenda (Mezam) -The Programme for the Improvement of Competiveness of Family agro pastoral farms (ACEFA), continues to make  its mark in the North West region with cheques that inspire hope in agricultural productivity.

This time around, on June 5th, 2018 farmer organizations from Mezam, Bui, Momo and Donga Mantung Divisions jumped for joy with cheques worth Fcfa 210.1.053 to boost productivity, transform  and enhance the  agricultural sector.

Distributing the cheques to 61 beneficiary farmers in Bamenda, the National Coordinator of ACEFA,  Bouba Moumini ,encouraged them on what they should  do in order not to breach  their own part of the contract.

He equally highlighted the role of agriculture in the growth of the Cameroonian economy adding that the funding is expected to encourage production to handle the nation’s food shortage problems and give Cameroonians opportunities for employment in large scale production activities.

He also appreciated the role of the North West farmers since the inception of the program in the region. The farmers according to the National Coordinator have stood tall in the execution of their projects, reason why others still have the opportunity to benefit from the ACEFA Programme.

The crowd puller event reminded beneficiaries that ACEFA is a genuine tool for family farm enterprises and that its financing mechanism involves all the divisions covered by the supportive counselling mechanism in which groups have submitted explicit and relevant group projects.

It emerged from the Bamenda event  that ACEFA  is a control  programme and everything  related to the programme needs to be controlled and checked to ensure that the project achieves its aim.

Expressing some of their worries, the farmers   were advised to  meet experts made available to them by the programme so as achieve  expected results. They were called upon to be transparent and open their doors for controllers at their project sites.

Around was the regional delegates of MINEPIA and MINADER whose delegations give technical support to the farmers.
