Bilateral Cooperation: Britain To Strengthen Economic Ties With Cameroon

High Commissioner Rowan James Laxton made the announcement on June 7, 2018 in Yaounde on the occasion of Queen Elizabeth’s 92nd birthday.

The British High Commission in Cameroon on June 7, 2018 in Yaounde celebrated the 92nd birthday of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland who has been on the throne for 66 years.

Though born on April 21, 1926, the Queen’s official birthday is celebrated in June as the UK’s National Day in recognition of her incredible life of service. It is also an opportunity to celebrate friendship between the UK and host countries.

The Cameroon government was represented at the event by the Minister, Secretary General in the Presidency, Ferdinand Ngoh Ngoh. The Minister Delegate in the Ministry of External Relations in charge of Relations with the Commonwealth, Felix Mbayu, and several cabinet ministers, were also present.

Talking to the press after, the British High Commissioner to Cameroon, His Excellency Rowan James Laxton said Cameroon and Great Britain have a great relationship. “Britain supports the development of Cameroon’s domestic and international politics, humanitarian issues and common security concerns across the world,” he noted.
