Chad: Towards Creation Of Federal State

A constitutional amendment committee has been put in place to work on institutional reforms.

 

President Idriss Deby Itno in a presidential has put in place a High Committee in charge of Institutional Reforms (HCRI) with the mission to draft a new constitution in view of determining the creation of a federal State in Chad, news agency reports say.

The decree signed on Tuesday, October 26, 2016 reportedly specifies that the committee has the objective to define and implement, initiate, propose and lead  all reforms  that concern the institutions of the Republic of Chad. Sources at the Prime Minister’s Office as cited as saying that the committee will equally supervise the organization of the national forum to valid the reforms.

The decree is stated as indicating that the reforms to be envisaged in the draft constitution  will besides other things, improve public administration by making it more performing.
