Ndop-Kumbo Highway: Boost For Fluid Traffic

Facility promotes development and features as an inspiration or new taste for modern architecture.

The completed stretch of the Ndop-Kumbo highway is part of the government’s overall, objective to link the seven Divisional headquarters of the North West region by paved roads and to ensure fluid traffic around the Ndop rice plain in Ngoketungia Division. In effect, the stretch crosses Ngoketungia and Bui Divisions.

The 50.5 km highway is a 7m wide carriageway with (2) 1m, shoulders each, including a carriage way made up of a base Course of 5 cm of laterite gravel, foundation Course of 20 cm of 0/31.5 crushed aggregates and wearing Course of 5 cm of bituminous concrete.

Literature from the Public Works department reveal that the highway, constructed by SOGEA-SATOM was funded by the MINTP Public investment budget worth about FCFA 41.141.803.111. Since completion, it is evident that the Ndop-Kumbo road has made traffic very fluid.

The volume of trade has increased between the regional capital, Bamenda, Ndop, Kumbo and on the streets of beneficiary towns like Babungo, Baba, Babessi, Jakiri etc.

The highway has also been an inspiration for inhabitants along the stretch to build. It has indeed, promoted development with a new taste for modern architecture as houses are regularly built along the stretch.
