Kumbo: Nsobati Women’s Association Relocates To Kumbo

The headquarters was moved from Yaounde to Nso on October 23, 2016.

 

The resolution to move to Kumbo, according to the Nsobati Women’s Association, NSOBAWOA officials, was prompted by the need to empower more rural women socio-economically and culturally. The decision to move the headquarters to Kumbo in Bui Division of the North West Region, took effect on Saturday, October 23, 2016, at the Tobin Party Secretariat.

NSOBAWOA, whose headquarters since creation has been in Yaounde, decided to move to Kumbo as authorised by Prefectoral Decision No 00583/CNADR/JO6/ALPAS/APPB of 27 June 2016. According to the National Coordinator, Bertha Yenwo Yiberla Ndzerem, the objectives of NSOBAWOA are to promote unity, peace and solidarity through the culture and traditions of Nso. They also seek to promote and enhance the socio-economic empowerment of women, educating and working with the rural women as well as identifying, designing and implementing community development projects in Nso communities.

“Our vision is to continue promoting our culture and helping to change lives through women’s entrepreneurship,” Yenwo declared. She said they plan to build centres in Kumbo and Jakiri where they will bring women together to achieve their objectives.
