Music: Papy Anza On The Spotlight

The Singer launched the album “Sateya” on Thursday, 27 September 2018 at Goethe Institute in Yaounde.

The message of togetherness spelled out in Papy Anza’s latest album “Sateya” launched at Goethe institute in Yaounde was welcomed by the audience who demonstrated their joy by applauding after the album was presented. Going by Papy Anza, the album of ten songs: Ma Reine, Tatou, Nakwa, Mag, A Ndolo, Mura, Nianga Niango, Ndolo, Murah, Meesanedi is aimed at preaching love within and without his country.

He said that launching the album at this particular period is strategic as it comes at a time when the peace of some regions of the country is threatened. He believes that his message of love and togetherness will break the chains of hatred and war. “It is time for the message of love for one’s brother, one’s wife or husband, one’s friend or even one’s neighbour to be song over again for it shall have a serious impact”, he said.

Papy confessed to have started so many projects which remained incomplete. This time he strived so hard to complete “Sateya” because of the impact he believes it will have when the message is widely spread. He said that in order to come up with satisfactory results, he could use a year to work on a single song. He emphasized that, “starting a project is simple but finalizing it is a very difficult process”.

That is why he spent a long period to come up with his new album “Sateya”. After the brief but rich presentation of the album, with a white shirt and pair of jean trousers, Papy mounted the stage and performed “Ma Reine”, a song that honours women, and then he did “Nakwa” that was appreciated by the audience.
