Le jeu et les joueurs: Choupo-Moting Leads Cameroon To Victory

André Onana

The Ajax Amsterdam Keeper was very present and vigilant in his post. He made many good saves for Cameroon. He also made some dribbling attempts which were rather frightening towards the end of the match precisely at the 80th minute but he was in control of the situation. He earned a yellow card for delaying the game a few minutes to the end of the match.

Yaya Banana

He had a tough time at the defence in his attempt to ward off moves by the Malawian attackers. He could not stand the mounting pressure from the adversary and made some misdirected passes. Ngadeu Ngadui He put up an average performance and was not really visible on the pitch. Even though he was not playing with the Lions for the first time he was physically lacking.

Oyongo Bitolo

He played his role well. He made some good strides upfront and was highly applauded by the crowd.

Jérôme Onguene He was making his debut with the national team. He played as right winger which is not his usual post. He was unable to satisfy fans in the away leg in Yaounde. It is expected that he will do better in the return leg in Malawi. He was replaced by Fai Collins who made a great difference in the defence.

Kunde Malong

He had a satisfactory performance. His technical qualities and good play style were highly appreciated by the public. For his first attempt with the national team he had an excellent game and he was showered with praises by fans.

Zambo Anguissa

He played well at the midfield. Together with Kunde Malong they were able to secure the midfield and created difficulties for the Malawians. From all indications his position in the team is solidified.

Toko Ekambi

The Villarreal forward was a mere shadow of himself during last Friday’s match against Malawi. He made some shots at goal without success missed out ...
